Career Pathways for Youths Transitioning Out of Foster Care

Goals

ED OCTAE initiated a project to improve college and career outcomes for youth transitioning out of foster care. Safal conducted a comprehensive literature review on these youth's career, postsecondary, and employment outcomes. The project included recruiting subject matter experts and facilitating a stakeholder convening to identify barriers, unique needs, and options for foster youth. Based on the findings, Safal developed messaging strategies to connect foster youth with relevant career and technical education opportunities.
