Safal provides performance and policy analysis support to the VETS Office of National Programs (ONP) and the Office of Agency Management and Budget (OAMB). Safal develops and monitors the VETS program's performance outputs and policy support services, including updating current policies, initiating new policies to support national, state, and local veterans’ offices, or examining federal policies affecting the execution of veterans’ programs and changing policies to include the latest Congressional and Executive Order decisions. Services include evaluating and analyzing program performance data, researching and developing program policies and processes, and reviewing and updating policy implementation in regional and field offices. Safal develops, implements, and monitors pertinent VETS programs’ performance output metrics and uses ensuing products to support policy deployment, including updating current policies, creating new policies to support national, state, and local veterans’ offices, assessing federal policies affecting the execution of veterans’ programs and appending policies with the latest Congressional and Executive Order directive to accomplish all required work.
