Client Goals

The primary objectives are to provide program services and operational support to cultivate and sustain a comprehensive distance and hybrid learning program within Job Corps. This project aims to identify and develop academic and career skills training education in a digital environment both on and off-center and recommend virtual platforms to help meet short- and long- term distance learning programmatic goals. In addition, the delivery of effective education and training includes but will not be limited to online (web based) courses, mobile learning, video, computer-based learning, and transitioning to a unified and robust Learning Management System (LMS).

Safal Approach

The Department has engaged Safal to provide: 1) Communicate regularly with OJC National and Regional offices’ staff to ensure timely and quality completion and effective dissemination of all project products, instructional tools, and adaptable resources; 2) Plan, facilitate, design, and support the implementation of a Job Corps distance learning program focusing on Virtual Enrollment and opening up the doors to Job Corps students from any location in the US; 3) Meet the immediate programmatic needs related to COVID-19, create and maintain an ongoing delivery of instructional and educational services, and integrate distance learning into emergency planning and preparedness; 4) Accomplish all contractual objectives to allow OJC to continue to provide educational and skills instruction required under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); 5) Collaborate with OJC to analyze, develop, and integrate online resources and/or platforms and train Job Corps staff to utilize online resources and successfully operate a distance learning program.
