Client Goals

The purpose of the Apprenticeships: Closing the Skills Gap (CSG) grant program is to promote apprenticeships as a significant workforce solution in filling current job vacancies and closing the skills gap between employer workforce needs and the skills of the current workforce.

Safal Approach

The overarching goals of this grant program are threefold: (1) to accelerate the expansion of apprenticeships to industry sectors and occupations that have not traditionally deployed apprenticeships for building a skilled workforce, such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and health care; (2) to promote the large-scale expansion of apprenticeships across the nation to a range of employers, including small and medium-sized employers; and (3) to increase apprenticeship opportunities for all Americans. Safal is contracted to provide immediate and intensive technical assistance for the following initiatives: A) Apprenticeships: Closing the Skills Gap Grant Program Technical Assistance to support apprenticeship grantees throughout the grant lifecycle; and B) H-1B Performance Management and Performance Reporting Technical Assistance across a variety of grant programs. Safal will use our pre-existing Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program to accelerate expansion of apprenticeships and to achieve the goals of the grant.
