Client Goals

The Department of Education operates four grant programs under the Arts in Education (AIE) umbrella: Assistance for Arts Education (AAE), Arts in Education Development and Dissemination (AAEDD), Professional Development for Arts Educators (PDAE), and the Arts in Education National Program (AENP). These programs share the collective goal of increasing student access to the arts and to integrate arts into the learning process. Awarded projects promote arts education for students, including disadvantaged students and students who are children with disabilities, through professional development, development and dissemination of accessible instructional materials, and community and national outreach activities.

Safal Approach

Under this contract, Safal Partners provides a range of services including: 1) Technical Assistance, both targeted and group; 2) Community of Practice activities; 3) Web-based Technical Assistance resources; and 4) The design, organization, and planning of a Project Directors’ Meeting. These activities are meant to help the grantees show continuous improvement in implementing their approved applications, including achievement of the intended program outcomes, priorities, requirements, and performance indicators established by the Department. Through this work, Safal has distributed resources focused on telling one’s story, social emotional learning through arts education, and prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout a project.
