Adam Jones is a Senior Advisor to Safal Partners on organizational assessment and state government issues, with more than 20 years of experience in state government. He served from 2003 to 2012 as the Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration and Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Education Agency. After serving at TEA, he built and ran the State Government and Austin Risk Advisory Services practice for Weaver, the largest independent CPA firm in Texas and the Southwest. His recent consulting engagements include a comprehensive IT governance assessment for the Austin Community College District and an ongoing performance-based budgeting project for the City of Houston. Other engagements have included work on behalf of Rice University, the Texas A&M University College of Liberal Arts, Westat, Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas, and El Paso ISD, where he was the engagement director for a large scale forensics investigation. He graduated with a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
